Swarm Foundation Secretary

Swarm is a system of peer-to-peer networked nodes that create a decentralised storage and communication service. The system is economically self-sustaining due to a built-in incentive system enforced through smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain.

Swarm aspires to shape the future towards a self-sovereign global society and permissionless open markets. On Swarm, applications can run autonomously yet securely in a planetary-scale deployment and execution environment.

Through the work you will do for Swarm Foundation, you will learn a lot about cutting-edge business development and decentralised autonomous organisations involved in open source technology, data, blockchain, decentralisation, and Internet Protocols.You will have a global view on setting up processes for a junior organisation in the crypto realm, set out to create a positive social impact.

Your role

  • Working directly with the Foundation Director, supporting operational processes
  • Coordinating legal administration and assessment (coordinating with the legal team)
  • Coordinating accounting, auditors and legal counsel, taking care of yearly accounting, tax and auditing reports
  • External administrative requirements such as filing reports and others
  • Preparing monthly financial reports for the Foundation Board
  • Basic treasury management and coordination with service providers, banks
  • Drafting internal policies when relevant
  • Coordination with other departments on organisational matters, especially with the Board
  • Organising and providing support for regular Board meetings

Your profile

  • A strong interest and deep (non-legal) knowledge of the crypto space and peer-to-peer open source tech
  • Up-to-date knowledge relevant to operational aspects of Foundation and general blockchain space in Switzerland
  • Business administration or legal background
  • Fluency in English and French/German
  • You like to work remotely
  • You are available around the CET timezone
  • You manage your own time effectively and respect time constraints
  • Well-organised
  • Strong sense of responsibility
  • Attention to details
  • Dependable – be willing to take on extra responsibilities
  • Willingness to learn

  • Familiarity with data protection laws (incl. GDPR) is preferred
  • Familiarity with Odoo as an ERP tool
  • Ability to pick up momentum: you will face a steep learning curve when joining the team
